The Story of a Couch Potato

The potato sack only wants to watch the television and sit on a comfortable couch. When he tries to sit on the couch, however, he finds he is way too small to throw himself up on it. This fact makes him feel very smell to the world and alone. He first tries several times to jump up on the couch by himself only to fail. Making him feel useless to himself and very sad. Finally he notices one of the couches pillows on the edge of he couch where he could reach it. He tries and it is successful. He then uses the pillow as a step for reaching on the pillow. While standing on the pillow he is more successful in pulling himself up on the couch, still with a little struggle. Once he reaches up on the couch he stands up and feels successful and as if he triumphed over a great struggle, though we see it only as being small. He throws his arms up in a victorious manner and grabs the remote, looking back on all the struggles he had to reach the couch. He then continues to click the remote and turns on the television, enjoying every moment.

Kelly i kind of feel like you should use a more creative design or way for the sac to get up onto the couch other than standing on a pillow. I mean i think that might be a little tough to animate the pillows softness when he steps on it. Maybe a more solid object would make things easier, or maybe he doesn't even stand on an object at all to get up there. Maybe he swings from a rope like tarzan or does something crazy we wouldn't even expect a sac of potatoes to do. maybe there's an elevator right next to the couch or something haha that he didnt see at first i don't know. Give it some thought. Other than that i like the idea, simple yet comical.

I still vote pole vault!

I agree with Beat in the fact that just a pillow seems a little anti-climactic. Should you have time, though, it may be effective to have him try something extreme and fail, first, THEN do the simple, boring, reasonable thing and succeed while doing that.

When he puts his arms in the air victoriously, you could have him instead clasp his hands together and shake them in the air from side to side (if you don't know what I'm talking about that's ok). To bring the animation to a stronger close, you could add some sort of irony to the ending such as the couch falling through the floor, the remote not working, or him breaking through the couch itself.
