The Story of a Couch Potato

The potato sack only wants to watch the television and sit on a comfortable couch. When he tries to sit on the couch, however, he finds he is way too small to throw himself up on it. This fact makes him feel very smell to the world and alone. He first tries several times to jump up on the couch by himself only to fail. Making him feel useless to himself and very sad. Finally he notices one of the couches pillows on the edge of he couch where he could reach it. He tries and it is successful. He then uses the pillow as a step for reaching on the pillow. While standing on the pillow he is more successful in pulling himself up on the couch, still with a little struggle. Once he reaches up on the couch he stands up and feels successful and as if he triumphed over a great struggle, though we see it only as being small. He throws his arms up in a victorious manner and grabs the remote, looking back on all the struggles he had to reach the couch. He then continues to click the remote and turns on the television, enjoying every moment.

BLOG 1:: Project One

I decided not to use my optical art from last semester because I found that none of it would make an interesting animation piece. An idea came to me from working in class the first day. I want to have a circle almost represent a human and portray human emotions without ever saying anything, but having it all with the music and his shape. The circle just wants to make some new friends but all he can find is this group of squares that just sit around anyways. He tries to bring himself more into the group with a little bit of his own style.
